New York, 1927. It's the Midnight Masque at the Gilded Lark Opera House. At midnight the curtain rises for the Grand Unmasking, and there is the host, Valentin Moreau, face down on the stage in his jeweled mask. Everyone in the house wore a mask tonight. One of them still does.
A printable murder mystery party for 6 to 12 guests. Each guest plays a suspect with something to hide. One of them did it. Guests read their booklet one round at a time, share clues, trade accusations and vote. Then you read the reveal.
The suspects
- Odette Fontaine, The Wardrobe Mistress: Made every mask in the house tonight.
- Contessa Lucia Vane, The Prima Donna: Hasn't been paid since Christmas.
- Rex Halloway, The Producer: Owes the dead man $18,000.
- Dr. Ivy Lockwood, The Company Physician: She keeps aconite in her doctor's bag, and Moreau was blackmailing her.
- Felix Moreau, The Nephew: He inherits everything, which helps, since he owes everyone.
- Mabel "Mink" Darrow, The Chorus Girl: Moreau promised her the lead, then took it back last week.
- Pearl Ashby, The Patroness: Her money rebuilt the Lark, and he sold it out from under her anyway.
- Jasper Quill, The Critic: The victim sued him for libel, and he was backstage at 11:52.
- Mrs. Clara Whitlock, The Widow: Her husband once owned the Lark.
- Nico Bellini, The Conductor: Moreau fired him on Tuesday, and he's still conducting tonight.
- Greta Lindqvist, The Ballerina: He kept her passport in his desk.
- Inspector Hugh Calloway, The Inspector: A policeman who takes envelopes.
